Marques Houston children-American R&B singer and actor, Marques Barrett Houston was born on August 4th, 1981 in Los Angeles, California.

Houston, who was a part of the R&B duo Immature/IMx from 1990 to 2002, went solo in 2003.

He gained notoriety as an actor for playing Roger Evans in the Sister, Sister comedy on television. Houston has had a number of commercially successful solo studio albums that have achieved platinum status in the US.

Marques Houston career

Houston joined the R&B group Immature (commonly known as IMx) as a founding member in 1992.

Along with Chris Stokes, who serves as their manager, the group’s members are Don “Half Pint” Santos and Jerome “Romeo” Jones (who was later replaced by Kelton “LDB” Kessee). “Batman” was Houston’s nick name during this time.

The group changed their name in 1999, and they went on to release two albums under the moniker IMx: Introducing IMx (1999) and IMx (2001). The ensemble also ventured into acting, making appearances on programs like Sister, Sister and A Different World.

Before breaking up in 2002, they produced music for the soundtracks of the movies House Party 3 and House Party 4: Down to the Last Minute.

Houston started pursuing a solo career in 2003. On October 21, 2003, he released MH under his birth name of Marques Houston.

The songs “That Girl”, “Clubbin'” (with Joe Budden and R. Kelly), “Pop That Booty” (featuring Jermaine Dupri), and “Because of You” were included on the album. MH reached its peak in the US charts at positions 20 on the Billboard 200 and 5 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums list.

Houston’s Naked, his second solo album, was made available on May 24, 2005. The singles “All Because of You” (with Young Rome), “Naked,” and “Sex With You” were included on the album. Naked reached its highest point in the United States at number 13 on Billboard and number 5 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.

Veteran, Houston’s third solo album, was made available on March 20th, 2007. The singles “Like This” (with Yung Joc), “Favorite Girl”, “Circle” and “Wonderful” were included on the album.

Veteran was Whitney Houston’s first number-one solo album in the US, debuting (and peaking) at number 5 on the Billboard 200 and number 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts.

On September 29, 2009, Houston released Mr. Houston, his fourth studio album. The singles “I Love Her” and “Sunset” were included.

In 2008, the singer posted videos for the album tracks “Body” and “Date” online. Videos for “How I Do” and “Case of You” were released in 2009, while “Tonight” followed in 2010.

The singles “Kickin’ & Screamin'” and “Pullin’ On Her Hair” from Houston’s fifth studio album, Mattress Music, which was released on September 14, 2010, were included. In 2011, the third single’s “Ghetto Angel” music video debuted.

Houston revealed on 106 & Park that IMx would be making another group album in 2016. This strategy was ultimately abandoned.

Houston revealed a brand-new studio album, titled Famous, in October 2012, with an August 27 release date.

Marques provided a free digital copy of the song “Speechless” as a promotional preview. “Give Your Love a Try” with Problem served as the album’s first single and was made available on iTunes.

Houston and IMx got back together after the release of his last record, and they went on tour. After reverting to their previous moniker, Immature, the group dropped “Let Me Find Out” as their next song in late 2014.

Remember, their resumé EP, was released in the beginning of 2015. Later that year, Houston made his solo single “Need You” from the Will to Love soundtrack available.

Houston has released the tune “Complete Me” to streaming and download retailers. In September, he debuted a music video for the song.

The song was supposed to be the lead single from his upcoming album White Party, which was due out later that year.

This album, however, was never released. Houston created the screenplay for the movie “Til Death Do Us Part” and recorded three brand-new songs for it in 2017. From the soundtrack, his song “Together” was made available as a single.

On February 4, 2022, Houston released Me, her first album in nine years. Me: Dark Water, his second EP, was released on November 4, 2022.
