NRL star Jared Waerea-Hargreaves gets astronomical price for Mosman home

March 2024 · 2 minute read

Sydney Roosters hardman Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and wife Chelsea Cormack have scored bigtime with the off-market sale of their Mosman home.

The near $8m sale of their new-build home came just shy of three years after they paid $3.53m for the 1920s cottage knockdown in November 2020.

The $750,000 plans, approved in mid-2021, were for a two-level home.

Its design by the Manly-based Edaa interiors came with a pool at the rear of the 470sq m block.

Its certificate of occupation was issued at the start of this year.

The recent sale was secured by Athony Godson and Nick Gittoes at Atlas, who advised it was “an astronomical sale price” after competing offers from the two parties who inspected the home.

The sale was revealed by a boastful letterbox drop telling the neighbourhood the price was “well above expectations and our initial appraisal”.

Apparently the sale has triggered several appraisal requests.

At just shy of $8m, the sale would rank as the 20th-priciest sale in the Mosman municipality this year.

Realestate.com.au puts the median Mosman house price at $5.15m.

It was $4.3m at the time of its last sale, based on 225 sales over the prior year.

The current median comes after just 187 house sales in the past year, highlighting the paucity of housing stock for sale.

The couple have previously flipped in the neighbourhood, having sold nearby for $5m in mid-2020 after their offering was on the market for just five days.

They had paid $3.1m three years earlier for the Countess St home, and had undertaken a $120,000 renovation.

JWH has lived in Mosman for more than a decade, having first attracted attention when he turned up on his new Suzuki Hayabusa road bike, one of the fastest in the world, in his early 20s.
