Selena Gomez to Produce Autobiographical TV Series

March 2024 · 2 minute read

Ever wondered what a TV series about Selena Gomez’s life might be like? Well, Lifetime is about to give you the answer.

That’s right! A scripted drama all about Selena Gomez. The Good For You songstress has penned a deal with the US network to bring her 23 years to the small screen in an autobiographical drama series. The series is being pegged as an Entourage style look at Sel’s life as told from her inner circle, so famous friends galore.

Executive Producing alongside Selena herself is Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti, the masters behind Fifty Shades of Grey and The Social Network so no doubt we’re in for a treat! That’s right!

Most likely a look at the ex-Disney star’s journey from Barney & Friends to Wizards of Waverly Place and beyond, the drama is sure to touch on topics such as her struggle with lupus and what it’s like growing up in the spotlight – and how to be the reigning Queen of Instagram.

Of course the ongoing saga of her whirlwind, very public, relationship with Justin Bieber is sure to garner a little screen time. Here’s hoping for throwback episodes to her days posting YouTube videos with former best pal and Disney alumni Demi Lovato, and behind the scenes looks at her friendship with Taylor Swift. No word just yet on who’s going to play Selena – or Biebs and Swifty – but we’re sure this star studded series is going to be worth the watch – until then at least we have Selena’s Revival tour to keep us going over the summer.

Perhaps Lifetime will offer us a Justin Bieber spin-off series, too? We’re sure there’s plenty to be told there!
